Just some stuff
I’m in a bloggy mood today, two post in one day. But I have some things to say…
My son needs braces. Yep. This sweet child of mine has had some teethy problems. He can’t manage to get the baby teeth out before the adult tooth tries squishing in front of, behind, around, and through the little guys. Such bullies, those adult teeth are. So, I guess the $3000 that the braces are going to cost me is a drop in the bucket next to the cost of all the dentist appointments I’ve made to have the baby teeth yanked over the years. Next Wednesday he has ANOTHER appointment to have this bad boy taken out. $200. Cha-ching.

I got this awesome recipe for Crockpot Italian Mushroom Chicken from the lovely Meghan. Delish, y’all. It fed us for two days too! A mom can use all the leftovers she can get. Here’s the fam enjoying my new fave recipe, and the recipe, of course:
Ingredients:
5-6 large boneless/skinless chicken breasts (fresh or defrosted)
2 cans Condensed Cream of Mushroom Soup
1 cup water
1 cup milk
1 package of powdered chicken gravy
1 package of Italian dressing mix
1 package (6-8 oz.) of fresh mushrooms
8 oz. of Cream Cheese
Rice (prepare separately)
Preparation:
Combine everything except cream cheese (and rice) in Crock-pot. Stir to mix it together. Cook on high for three hours. Cube cream cheese, add to mixture and stir. Cook on low for one hour. Serve over rice.

Even Nooskers loved him some chicken and rice. Yummmm!

With our dinner we had a yummy salad and, because we’re classy like that, we had cheesy garlic sandwich bread.

And just because it’s fun, we had dinner on the ground tonight. On Bella and Noah’s level. Dinner hadn’t been served just yet in this first photo and dinner looks to be all over Noah’s face in the second photo! Bella was thrilled to share her little Dora patio set with us!

(Yes, Bella is almost always diaper clad. I’ve got trouble on my hands. This girl hates clothes.)

“Oh, yes. Some more Mango Applesauce, please. Mango Applesauce is the bomb diggity.”

I have a chihuahua named Penny, a.k.a. “Neeners”. Yes, we have some funky nicknames in this fam. I got Neeners in 2002, after I had decided that I was pretty darn infertile and needed something small to cuddle with to help me feel better about that. Poor Neeners. She used to have diamonds around her neck and pretty painted pink toenails. She slept with us at night, went everywhere with me, and was always in my lap. Then came Bella, then Noah. Neeners probably wants to eat herself some baby toes as revenge, but she’s been quite a good sport about settling as being my “other baby.” Some might think her ugly (even the camera didn’t want to focus on her), but she’s just a little doll to me! Jeremy thinks she’s fugly, in a Paris Hilton kind of way, but methinks her beeeeeautiful!

Neeners is cute! Sorry about the braces..my sis just told me her oldest is scheduled to have 2 baby teeth pulled so they can put braces on his. Not a one of us had braces but they’ve already told her the girl will need them too. But she has that thing where your lower teeth project out further than the top so it has to be fixed before she is 12 or she would need surgery. Kids can be expensive but it isn’t their fault. I’m sure life would take it somewhere else if not there.
I love the pictures in this post especially the one in the sun under the umbrella!
That looks good. What do you think one package of chicken gravy is in weight? We don’t have the same kind of packages here… so I would like to try this but not sure on what 1 package of gravy is.
Love your photos, as always the kids look so sweet. Noah looks so delighted with you all at the little table!!
so cute… other than the dog… so cute. my hubby wants to get a shitzu, i don’t think i want anything in my house with a name like that!
from one that didn’t get the op to have braces, yay for him to get it over with now!
I have like the most expensive teeth in history. Seriously. Any gadget you can have, I had!
Cute pictures and that grub looks good. I’ll have to try it.
i adore neener ~ i want a chihuahua in the worst way, aiden wants a big saved from the shelter dog and duke wants a beagle ~ did i mention we have a small house !!?? i think chihuahua would be perfect, lol.
sorry about the braces ~ we just went through years of it with aiden, years !! luckily our health coverage paid for most of it (about 95%) : )
i love these happy photos and i think we have a very similar wall colour, tee hee …
have an amazing weekend with your beautiful family!! hugs!
TOB– sorry it took me so long to reply to your question. I think the gravy packet has 1.60 or so ounces of dried mix. This would make about 2.5-3 cups of white gravy once water is added and it is aloud to thicken. Hopefully you have the gravy in jars and could just buy that. I think it would be just as tasty!
My friend used to do a similar recipe and serve it with pasta… all in all a great dish! I am more a rice fan than pasta. Thanks for sharing the dinner idea!
You crack me up about the camera not even thinking your neeners is cute… LOL!
Aww, sorry about the braces Steph. My eldest had to have braces as well. Just wait until you start making those payments and then your sweet young’in doesn’t want to cooperate and won’t wear his rubber bands or head gear! grrrrr lol.
I’m going to try out that chicken recipe. Looks yummy! I think I’ll cut it in half though. It would take my family of 5 a week to eat all that chicken.
I always love looking at your family pics. It’s great that you take lot of them. Isn’t digital wonderful?
Love your “other baby” as well. My dog Domino still has not fully forgiven me for Isabella and Nichola. He really had it made before they came along. Wait until he finds out I’ve got my heart set on another baby LOL!
Thanks. And yes, we do have gravy powder in larger packages. I am pretty sure we don’t in those smaller sizes. However I usually make my own gravy so I can’t be totally sure! I’ll be sure to blog about it when I make it, then you’ll know
theotherbeartus? What the?? Yeah. I don’t know either. I blame it on the rain.
Just seeing that dish makes me want to make it again! I’m glad you guys liked it. That picture of Noah eating with rice all over him is AWESOME!!
Have you tried the sleeved bib yet? What do you think?
Meghan, I love, love, love the bib! It’s awesome! Noah is so messy when he eats, it gets everywhere! Bella didn’t like getting dirty, so she was careful not to make too much mess. But Noah? He’s ALL boy! He wears the food in his hair, his ears, his nose! I’m diggin’ the sleeved bib. Can use less Spray N Wash now!
Every time you take a photo of that little Noah, it makes me want to run off and start breeding again! He’s the cutest little thing, always smiling! Your little Bella is equally gorgeous but there’s something about Noah’s cheeks I just want to squeeze them! He’ll have all the girls chasing him when he’s older!
