To flu shot, or not to flu shot…

… That is the question.

I’m not ready for flu season, are you? I can never decide whether to get the flu shot or not. Seems I don’t exactly trust what it is they put into those shots (mercury, uhhhh, is not good for the body), and history has had it that I get the flu on the years I take the shot anyways. So why bother? They say your symptoms may be lessened when you have the shot, because you may still get a different strain. I think the flu shot is just another way for those pharmaceutical companies to make some dough, personally. You know, we Americans are always playing into that fear factor. Woosies.

I did just read an article by Dr. Weil. He said, “Keep in mind that influenza is not just a bad cold. It means a few days of misery with aching, chills and fever. Worse, the flu can lead to pneumonia, which can be deadly. Each year, more than 100,000 people are hospitalized and 20,000 die as a result of the flu and its complications.”

Yeah, the fear factor. You better hurry! Go get your shot! Good Gosh, what is he? The spokesman for doom and gloom? Jeez. How many people die from choking on a peanut butter and jelly sandwich because they ran out of milk to wash it down? If you ever wondered, just pay Mr. Pessimism to write an article about it. Then the dairy farmers might make as much money that year as the Pharmaceutical companies!

How about that bird flu scare that made billions of dollars for the pharm companies? What ever happened to that money? Someone please direct me to the research that those billions went towards. Oh, wait… I forgot. It didn’t go towards any reasearch, it did go towards Rumsfeld’s retirement right? Oops. Silly me.

Sometimes the world bothers me. I think I’ll just take a nice tall order of the flu to go with this PB&J sandwich, please.

Don’t get it if you feel you should not, it is useless and harms your body, you need your immune system to be as intact as possible without any chemical or dead virus.

None of my children are vaccinated, they have NEVER been sick , we have traveled a lot, no flu, no disease, no nothing…

My nephew had all the shots available, by the age of 2, I think he received all the “necessary” shots and then some , like Hep B, Pneunomia, flu… Not one week goes without him being sick, and of course they medicate him with antibiotics, poor kid by the time he is 20, he will be a walking zombie.

You’re right about the fear factor, it is huge in the States, especially when it comes to diseases.

There is this theory about the origins of AIDS and the polio vaccine. In the 50’s the US were manufacturing a new polio vaccine , this polio vaccine was derivated from monkeys’ organs ( the monkeys were the hosts of the SV 40 virus). To eradicate a virus (polio) they had to create another one, basically they inject sick monkeys’parts into children.
Because children died or got sick because of this vaccine, 2 men came out with the oral polio vaccine, it was the race to get the patent ( and the big $), they had to test a large population of non vaccinated children , which was non existent in the US. So what the heck, they went to Africa (ex Zaire now Congo), they used no ethics by going over there to test those poor people, it was too much of a great opportunity to pass…
The first HIV infection started shortly after in Zaire among the vaccinated people.
The monkeys they used to experiment with the polio vaccine were the host of the SIV virus ( ( human HIV).

You can read more in a 1000 pages book written by John Hooper called The River, there are many books about this theory in Europe , I don’t know if they are published in the US.

Sorry about the long post, but this subject gets me going, sometimes you can’t believe what “they” say or tell you to do. Remember “they” care about one thing : $.

Google key words like vaccine/truths/danger…
I am not an anti vaccination freak, I would just use it with caution, I have a pharmacist friend, he has never been vaccinated and I have heard many , many doctors saying they would never inject their children.
Makes you wonder…

I get a flu shot every year. I have never had the flu when vaccinated. Sure, a cold - but that is not FLU.
In terms of the vaccination debate, I do agree there are risks - but on weighing the risk I believe there is more risk in not vaccinating.

AMEN SISTER! Don’t even get me started on what I am trying to correct from my children because of overuse of antibiotics and of course the metals that are in my children’s bodies right now!! All prescribed/recommended by our trusted pediatricians based on what some higher power told them was correct. In 1984 we were given 10 shots over the course of our “baby shots” today, it is 36 SHOTS!! WTF!! BTW, Autism went from 1 in 3000 cases 10 years ago to 1 in every 150 children. (1 in every 94 boys!). So no, this year; for the first time, I will not be giving my children the flu shot as they can’t even handle what they have been given for the first years of life! http://www.taca.com for more info on autism as well as vaccinations.

I don’t do the flu shots. Not yet anyway. Of course, knock on wood I haven’t had the real influenza since I was a child. Around here everyone says…”Oh I got the flu.” When it could be a cold or any virus. The flu sucks. But no shots until I am older. I just don’t like putting the chemicals in.

I had a professor die when I was in college from the flu. She was 60. Until then I didn’t know you could even die from it unless you were a baby.

PS- I’ve been to the mouse and I LOVE it but I can’t leave comments there. I don’t have that kind of an acct and I’ve tried to set one up before and it just messes my other systems up for some reason. But I wanted you to know that I like the read.
