Golden Compass Anyone?

I was trying to decide on my next read, since I finally finished the last Meyers book. I was thinking about the Golden Compass. Has anyone read that? Was it any good?

Blogthings

You Are Socks!
Cozy and warm… but easily lost.
You make a good puppet.

Apparently I’d be a pair of socks if I were given as a Christmas gift. Weird. There are worse things though, right? I could have been a fruitcake. Wait, I already am. Ok, I could have been a sweater knitted by Aunt Fran with a huge candy cane on the front. Eewwww. I’d rather the socks! :-)

Girls are GROSS

If you were under the false assumption that boys are the only gross critters on planet Earth, I beg to differ. Even the pretty, pink loving, princesses get kind of grody at times!

We’re driving down the road and I happen to look back at Bella through my rear view mirror. She is smiling from ear to ear, a mischievious look about her.

Me: “Bella, what are you up to back there?”

Bell: “I’m playing a game.”

Me: “Oh, yeah? What kind of game?”

Bell: “A boogie game.”

Me: (looking back at her more closely and spotting the biggest booger known to mankind wrapped around her finger). “BELLA! IS THAT A BOOGER? MY GOODNESS!”

Bell: (Chuckling and sticking finger up to lips) “Yeah, and I’m going to gobble it up. Mmmmm. Yummy.”

Me: “NO! It’s a booger. You can’t eat boogers! Nast! Wipe it on this napkin.”

Bell: (Grinning mischieviously) “Noooooo. I’m going to eat it, Momma!”

Of course, she didn’t eat it. The fact that she would even tease about it goes to show she hangs out with boys too much. And I think I need to take her to a doctor about those boogers. There is no reason a booger that HUGE should come out of a tiny little nose. Gross!

My fave Christmas Treats…

My favorite Christmas treats are:

Scented candles burning in almost every room.

Fruit cake. OMG. I love fruitcake.

Cherry Cordials.

The song “Santa Baby.” Love it!

Eggnog mixed with a bit of coke and a drop or two of rum.

Going to our little grocery store and hearing Christmas music instead of Country. The country music makes me want to hang myself.

Buying gifts for family.

Baking treats for friends and family.

Starbucks Eggnog Capp

What are your favorite Christmas treats? Is there something you happily indulge in that you don’t the rest of the year?
