I need some love…

So I made my nephews some cuddle quilts for their birthdays– which are this weekend. Jonny is turning 14 and is really into the patriots, so I made him a Patriots quilt. Josh is turning 10 and I made him a crazy quilt with bright colorful quilt sqaures. I finished Josh’s last week and finished Jonny’s today.

They had some dog hair on them because our Boxer is shedding like mad crazy, so I decided to wash them before I gave them. I don’t usually do that because soaps and softeners are a personal thing…

Josh’s blanket is still beautiful. But Jonny’s quilt???? The fargin’ thing ripped to SHREDS! The seems fell apart! I used a duck fabric which was supposed to quilt nicely but instead completely unraveled and made the seems fall apart!

I want to cry. I just want to cry. Nevermind that this one was one of my biggest quilts and was sooooo pretty. I cut the heck out of my finger with the rotary cutter when I was cutting the squares. It was weeks ago and yet look at my poor finger! I wasn’t even going to complain about that because the quilt came out soooo lovely. Poor me. Don’t you want to kiss my stub?

And this is all I have to show for it….

It looks like my seams were too short, but I did my typical quarter inch seems. I guess the combo of cheap Wal Mart fabric with Duck fabric just weren’t the right fabric choices.

I’m sad. Someone give me some love.

All better now…

On the bright side, at least YOU washed it first and it fell apart. :)

Oh, how sad! I’ve had that happen before and it is so frustrating.

Yeah, I’m with Sophia.

Crafting injuries are the worst. I once cut my pointer finger and had to do all weird sort of digit contortionism to knit while it healed.

I’ve had fabric do that to me before- it always makes me super mad. You could always try putting something on the edges so they don’t unravel.
