Wild Girls

I’ve been boring as all get up on this blog lately, haven’t I? Well, my life isn’t boring, I can assure you.

This morning I was making some grits and eggs for the babies for breakfast. They ventured from the kitchen for a few moments. In those moments they managed to make a bit of a mess in the bathroom. I walked in and found Noah dumping a box of tampons into the toilet… And Bella? The big sister? She wasn’t exempt from the mischief. Although her mess was a little easier to clean up…

Speaking of Bella… This morning we were playing with her Barbies and she handed me a doll with no clothes on. With my best high pitched valley girl Barbie impersonation I said, “I’m naked. Where’s my 7 for All Mankind Jeans and my Christian Louboutin heels!?”

Bella said, “Your girl is a wild girl. Wild girls have to be N@ked, that’s why her b00bi3s are hanging out. Her’s a wild girl.”

Oh, Great. We don’t even have cable and her favorite movie is “Annie”. How does she know about Wild Girls already? Craziness!

The Good Sellers

You won’t believe this but the same thing that happened with Namebrands4home happened to me again! No kidding. I couldn’t believe it and had actually decided that I was SURELY cursed and would never buy anything but fabric on eBay again.

I ordered this from HipOutlet on eBay for Bella’s room a few weeks ago. I was super excited because it’s going to be PERFECT for her new Princess Castle Bed.

I received an item in 7 days from Canada, but it was the wrong mosquito netting. I was a bit disappointed and immediately wrote the seller. She dropped a new (the one pictured above) one in the mail to me today! Talk about customer service!

I was a little worried that I was going to have another bad experience and I just refuse to go through the whole dispute process again right now.

I’m easy to please. I just want to get what I order. Thank goodness there are a bunch of good sellers out there to make up for the handful of bad ones… Thanks HipOutlet!

I need some love…

So I made my nephews some cuddle quilts for their birthdays– which are this weekend. Jonny is turning 14 and is really into the patriots, so I made him a Patriots quilt. Josh is turning 10 and I made him a crazy quilt with bright colorful quilt sqaures. I finished Josh’s last week and finished Jonny’s today.

They had some dog hair on them because our Boxer is shedding like mad crazy, so I decided to wash them before I gave them. I don’t usually do that because soaps and softeners are a personal thing…

Josh’s blanket is still beautiful. But Jonny’s quilt???? The fargin’ thing ripped to SHREDS! The seems fell apart! I used a duck fabric which was supposed to quilt nicely but instead completely unraveled and made the seems fall apart!

I want to cry. I just want to cry. Nevermind that this one was one of my biggest quilts and was sooooo pretty. I cut the heck out of my finger with the rotary cutter when I was cutting the squares. It was weeks ago and yet look at my poor finger! I wasn’t even going to complain about that because the quilt came out soooo lovely. Poor me. Don’t you want to kiss my stub?

And this is all I have to show for it….

It looks like my seams were too short, but I did my typical quarter inch seems. I guess the combo of cheap Wal Mart fabric with Duck fabric just weren’t the right fabric choices.

I’m sad. Someone give me some love.

All better now…

Lady Luck

I’m not a “gambler”. I buy a lotto ticket once in a blue moon. On my way to town for a hair appointment, I had to stop and get gas. I had an extra $4 after I put a whopping $70 in my tank, so I bought 2 scratch tickets. I do that from time to time when I’m feeling wasteful.

I was driving down the road and started scratching (I can scratch and drive at the same time– Talent, y’all). The first card was a dud. I didn’t even win the $2 I spent on the stupid thing. So I started scratching the next card. I scratched one area and noticed I had won $50! I immediately got on the phone and called Jeremy to tell him. As I’m on the phone, I start scratching a few more areas (I can drive, scratch, and talk on the phone all at the same time). I kept winning. And winning. And winning! I couldn’t even keep track in my head with how much I’d won (apparently I can’t drive, scratch, talk on the phone AND do math at the same time). So I pulled over and started reading off the numbers to Jeremy. He did the math for me (there’s a real good reason I majored in English in college).

Drum rollllllllll…

Drum rolllllll…

I WON $700!!!! No freakin’ kidding! I was SOOOOO stoked I drove right to the store to get my money. Apparently anything over $599 requires you sending the ticket off for the money. I was bummed about that because, HELLO!? I want the dough NOW! But, alas, I will have to wait 3 weeks for the money. Which will go into savings for my son’s braces, will buy some new tires for my old man’s truck, or a new vacuum because mine died yesterday. So, at least it came when we needed it, I guess! :-)
