Stay-at-home Steph

What does a stay-at-home Stepherz do on a windy, cloudy, cold Spring day when the gas costs $3.90 per gallon? She does just that: Stay-At-Home. What do we do in a tiny house to keep from yanking one another’s teeth out?

We clean the house so that we can spend the day tearing it back up…

We play and learn on starfall.com (thanks Jenica!)

We take our own picture and wonder how it’s possible to have adolescent breakouts and aging crow’s feet at the same time…

We use our new RE9 Arbonne system to battle those crows feet and flaws. (My MD gift from Jeremy):

We play with Barbie (damn that beeyatch for having no crow’s feet) and her naked headless friends. (Methinks these girls have been dabbling with drugs. Such a shame. Never trust a girl who never eats and manages to wear a smile all the time):

We play with our loyal pup who ain’t nuthin’ but ugly (RE9 can’t help her) but she sure is sweet…

And we make cute things for Etsy…

Is your sky sunny and warm? If not, what are you doing to keep your teeth?

What size are the monkey shoes? I want them for Anthony, but I didn’t see them up in your etsy store yet. The 0-6 months robeez are just about too small for him, so I bet I would need 6-12 months. :-)

The weather here isn’t too bad, it’s cloudy, but not cold or anything. We ran errands this morning ( must do every thing possible at once with the price of gas! :) ) and now we’re home for the rest of the day, cause I can’t afford the gas to drive anywhere else! Amelia is playing on the computer and doing “school work” as she calls it. I’m cleaning the kitchen. And Anthony is doing what babies do best, sleeping! Exciting huh?

Here in Europe 1 gallon costs 5,70 USD, this is insane, people are struggling, some are moving back to the cities so they won’t need a car, carpooling is getting more and more popular and most people avoid unecessary trip.

This month we have put a lot of gas in the car because of our move, we spent a fortune at the gas station!!! We don’t even have a sport car, a luxury car or a big SUV. No, we have a normal size car for Europe ( I know our car is tiny compare to US standards) , we drive a diesel like 90% of European because diesel gas is cheaper, but to fill up our car we pay 105 USD!!! And we last about 5 days with that. This is a sad way to waste money and we feel so powerless…

Forget about buying a Chanel bag, the real luxury nowadays is to drive your car to work.

My mistake , I calculated in euros instead of dollars so 1 gallon costs 8,73 dollars!!!Yes, you read right 8,73 dollars for 1 gallon.

WTF!!! Can you see how much we’re hurting now?
Please feel sorry for us, when my MIL complains about the price in the US , my husband wants to strangle her!

1 gallon equals 3, 78 liters.
1 liter of gas costs 1. 50 euros.
3.78 X 1.50 = 5, 67 euros
5,67 euros equals 8,73 dollars

Sissi!! That’s insanity! Wow. $4.00 is hard on us since just a few years ago it was only $2.00. What was the gas prices in Europe 2 years ago? Have your prices risen drastically too?

Americans do complain a lot, huh? I just know that 1/4 of my husband’s pay goes to pay for his gas to get to work. And that just plain stinks!

Steph, I sold these to a neighbor today– that’s why they never made it to my shop. These were approximately 5 1/4 inch from the tippy toe to the end of the heel when measured on the exterior sole of which I would guess about 1/2 is fabric allowance on the inside and not actual foot room. I can make more just like it. It’s hard to say whether they would fit, they might be too big. Getting them too big is better than too small though, otherwise I’d offer to make you a smaller pair? The neighbor who bought those today bought them for her neice who is turning one this summer…

I’ll measure his feet, and measure the shoes he’s growing out of now and let you know, if that’s okay.

Oh and my mom got her flowers today. She said they are beautiful! Thanks. :-)

yes, the prices have risen too, gas has doubled… before it was already expensive but now!!!
I mean can’t they find a solution? How long will it continue? Will we stop to go anywhere and become broke because we need gas? This is absurd!!! No, whenever we go on a family outing I worry about how much this is going to cost to drive, it puts this ambiance the whole car ride.

They send men outer space but they can’t find another alternative to gas? I find this hard to believe!
In the meantime, in Dubai ( where the oil is) they pay Madonna 50 millions dollars for a 2 hour concert, they probably wipe their ass with 100 dollars bills, this is how much money they have thanks to us needing gas !

Grrrrrr…

Cute post. You’re so funny. It’s been sunny here in Montgomery. Actually, a little sunny! We’ve been averaging 80 degrees. I’m so not looking forward to summer. Oh yeah, and we had a tornado to touch down yesterday. No one was hurt…thankfully.

Happy Mother’s Day!!

Oh I hear you on the gas too… The Mister drives 40 miles round trip everyday to work. We can’t move closer because we aren’t rich, he may have to find a job that’s super closer to our new house.

It would be nicer here in Pittsburgh, you could just ride public transportation…… but they keep raising fare prices to cover “gas” and because the drivers keep going on strike for more money (seriously… they’re getting $18-25 an hour… why on earth do you need to strike people?…. the people who earn $8 an hour can’t get to work because of you, because now its becoming too expensive to take the bus). Its madness.

Steph,
A good read…helped the afternoon go by while I’m manning the control room during BASICS OF BUSINESS LAW…day 1. Got day 2 tomorrow…I love shooting video and all, but this content sucks.
Regarding April…I hurt for you (& your kids). I’m heading to Shelby this weekend to visit my grandmothers. Having grown up spending my summers with Nana I value my relationship with her about as much as my mom. My relationship with my in-laws is strained due to some lies and financial bull-shit that happened early in our marriage and has prevented me from fully trusting my father-in-law again. They have constant issues (sister-in-law just got 3rd DUI) and I point my finger a lot. But we at least make the best of things and have a decent relationship all in all. I will pray for you guys that things can improve.
