Oh Boy…
I went to a Children’s Museum meeting today and was chosen to take on a HUGE challenge. I’m the new coordinator for a massive City of Smallville Father’s Day Event here in our town. We pay the city to block off Main Avenue in the heart of town and set up booths, concessions, entertainment, etc. It’ll be so rewarding though, after the headache is all done. I’ve heard that the previous coordinators were completely fried and frazzled by the time Father’s Day comes around…
It’s in June but we start the planning next month. I made the mistake of telling some of the other Board Members how much I love event planning. I didn’t think they would put me in charge of the committee for that. Luckily I’ve been given a good group of people to help me. It’s fantastic experience and I’ll be paid very well for it. But… YIKES! THOUSANDS of families will be there!
Wish me 6 months of smooth planning and no new gray hairs, eh?
