Monday
First of all, let me start with Monday. Monday is a great day. Monday, at 11:00, Jeremy and I are going in for the 21 week ultrasound and we’ll get some GREAT news… One, we’ll find out that the hematoma is gone, because I think it is. And two, we’ll find out if the baby is a boy or a girl!! I’m sooooo stoked! So stay tuned and come back to visit next week– I’m sure I’ll be announcing the happy news!
Today
Now back to today… I just heard that we the taxpayers are giving GM TWO BILLION DOLLARS! Doesn’t that news make you all warm and tingly!? I mean, especially since you have to have a credit score of 1,000,000 to get a fargin’ loan for a General Motors car these days. I can’t even get my husband to give me a loan because we is broke. Broke. Broke!
So let’s go and give GM some more money, shall we? Even though they spit in our oatmeal by moving jobs to Mexico. Rick Wagoner was the CEO of GM. Were you wondering about how beautiful his home is and what kind of severance package he’s getting? The poor guy lives in this home and is only getting $2,000,000 in his severance package. Poor guy.

Let’s loan those slime balls some more money, shall we?
Here’s my take… Ford has been threatening us for YEARS. And they don’t just make threats about cutting or moving jobs, they DO IT. Look at Flint, Michigan! They are completely devastated! The plant workers are always fighting and they are always afraid that they will end up in welfare lines. And they should worry. Ford is a peice of crap. But honestly, aren’t we all just a hop, skip, and a jump from welfare lines these days? Ford isn’t the only employer making threats to jobs these days, Trust. I say LET THEM GO UNDER! Yeah, it’s going to have an impact on our economy. Some say we’d really have that Depression. But what are our options? Keep lending money to a tyrant who sends American jobs to Mexico and devestates our economy in other ways? NO! Frack ‘em! Use that 2 billion to feed the families of the workers who are going to lose their jobs eventually anyways.
Everyone’s so proud of their Ford, Chevy, American made vehicles. For what!? Those companies are run by tyrants that are OBVIOUSLY as anti-american as you can possible get! Buy a VW, Honda, Toyota, Subaru… At least you’ll still have a car that can and will run when GM goes under. And they will.
Or… General Motors? How about you finally make us a vehicle that can run without gas and then make them affordable enough that people can actually afford them. You OWE us that! We’ll lend you the 2 billion, you give us a reliable vehicle that runs off of solar power. And don’t try saying you can’t. We’ve sent a man to the moon; I think you can.
Anyhow… Politics again. I know you love it when I do that…
See you Monday!!!!

Last year I stumbled across this advertisement for a hanging tomato planter (”Topsy Turvey,” or something like that). I thought it was ingenious! My tomatoes always end up with some funky disease or bug that might have been prevented if the plant was able not to touch the ground. I don’t know what it is about tomato plants but I just can’t keep them healthy.
But when I saw how much those upside down hanging planters were ($20 each), I knew I wasn’t going to be hanging any of my plants anytime soon. Of course, that was until I decided to make my own upside down hanging planter! I mean, if you can sew AT ALL, you can sew a simple bag. That’s all these hanging planters are. And you could even fashion some reusable grocery bags while you’re at it.
I bought the materials for about 20 of my own bags for the price Topsy Turvey wanted for ONE of their planters. I bought a nice sturdy outdoor fabric in the remnant section at WalMart and sewed up 2 of these in a few minutes. I fashioned one with a regular bottom and the other with a drawstring-like bottom. I think I like the drawstring best. They are really fun to make and wouldn’t they be great gifts!? Everyone loves plants, especially the ones that bear fruit! I made one bag for my jalapeno plant and one for my cherry tomato plant. I have about 50 more plants that will need planters soon– so I’d better get to sewing!
Anyhow, here is a video of the process. It’s not in depth about sewing– I guess this might be a good tutorial for someone who already knows the minimal basics to sewing.
Let me know if you make one!
