Super Nanny

Dude. Have you watched Super Nanny? We just got cable again for the first time in a couple years. Not much has changed in the television world. But Super Nanny? Holy cow. She’s new. I love me some Jo-Jo. We’ve actually been using a lot of the techniques she teaches and have seen a dramatic diff in Noah’s behavior. Unnnnn-believable. Who knew that a Naughty Bench could change the world?

One thing JoJo taught us is to keep the kids engaged. On cold wintery days, what do you do to keep sanity inside all day? Noooooo. You don’t make your kids watch Super Nanny or Girls Next Door with you. You play! You create! You use your imagination. Here’s what we’ve been doing…

Use t-shirt paints to make colorful t’s…

Paint a bird house— makes a fun Christmas gift for family!

Sing songs, build castles and garages with VHS movies for dolls or matchbox cars.

Kids are easy. And engaged, entertained children means less mischief, doesn’t it?

Build forts, make cookies, make ornaments and decorations, let the kids help you clean. What are you doing indoors on those blistery days?

Good Stuff…

Life has been good to me, y’all. I think 2009 was one of the best. First I got a visit from dad, then Caleb came, then Elizabeth came for a spell, then Candace. Who is next? Are you coming too!? Yayyyy! You can if you want!

Anyhow… Promised an update and some pics, didn’t I? Here we go…

Caleb is a little dream… He sleeps through the night, is growing fluffier by the minute, nurses like a champ, smiles all the time, and is as cute as they come. He’s got blue eyes and a sweet little beauty mark on his left cheek.  He’s so much fun and the kids (and Daddy, of course) adore him!

Bella and Noah are doing great! They are big helpers with Caleb and have adjusted to a baby brother PERFECTLY. I mean, they transitioned beautifully. Austin is playing basketball this winter, which I LOVE! The kid eats me out of house and home, let me tell ya. He’s HUGE! He’s taller than me now– somewhere around 6 foot. Crazy. He is an outstanding kid. Golly I’m a lucky momma…

Jeremy is taking a little break from work (ack). Building projects aren’t abundant these days. You know how that goes. But we had paid up on the mortgage and other bills when things were good, preparing for a slow winter. And MAN is it nice having him at home. I know he needs to work… we need him to work… but the little “vaycay” is nice.

Ok, not much else going on. No kidding! Here are some pics to entertain you since I can’t seem to write anything interesting…

The kids loved my sister…

Candace’s baby, Naomi, ADORED Jeremy. She lit up when he’d come home from work!

We played all day, every day. The weather was divine the whole time Candace was here…

Lastly, Candace and I got matching tattoos with mom’s name and a sand dollar (mom’s fave). Isn’t it special!?

And now I’m out of pics that don’t show the kids faces… So the next post will probably be private cause I gotta show some videos and pics of Caleb! If you don’t remember the password, email me at…

Hugs Y’all!

Been missin ya!

I have been missing you guys so much. We’re doing GREAT! I’ve been busy with Candace’s visit, so I’ll have to come post pics and stories when she leaves. Until then, thanks for hanging around despite my inconsistency!
